Trunks (トランクス) is a main character in the Dragon Ball manga, and in the anime series Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.

DragonballGT-Episode064 236

He is the half Human and Saiyan hybrid son of Bulma and Vegeta, and later on he is the older brother of Bra. He is also Son Goten's best friend. In the English versions of the Budokai and Budokai Tenkaichi video game series, he is officially called Kid Trunks to avoid great confusion with his future alternative counterpart, Future Trunks. He is the second half saiyan in the series to be born after Gohan but right before Goten and Bra.

Background

TrunksBabyIsBorn

Trunks as an Infant.

Trunks Brief was born in the year of Age 766 as the first child to Vegeta and Bulma, thus making him a half Saiyan and Human hybrid and the couple's very first child. In his early infancy, he was well loved and doted on by his mother, and grandparents but it appeared as if his father had little to no parental emotions towards the boy, such as when Vegeta admitting to never hugging his son until he was only eight years old during the Majin Buu Saga and by telling him how proud he is to be Trunks' father.

The circumstances in the Androids Saga and in the Cell Games Saga strongly imply that Trunks' conception was the result of a brief affair between his parents and Yamcha, as Future Trunks told Son Goku that Vegeta and Bulma's attraction towards each other was mostly based on passion and loneliness. But after the Cell Games Saga, his parents' relationship improved and they most likely married, and finally they began raising Trunks together as a family.

During Trunks' early childhood, he and Vegeta developed a normal father son relationship and Trunks also idolized his father a lot, who was strict when it came to his training but he was fair to him and did spend time with him. Trunks also enjoys going to the amusement park with him. When he was a little toddler he met Son Goten and started a long lasting friendship with him (Just like how Goku and Kuririn's friendship is today).

Personality

As a young child during the Majin Buu arc, Trunks Brief is shown to be quite cocky and stingy, as well as being mischievous, most likely due to the fact that this Trunks grew up with his father Vegeta and enjoyed the luxuries of peace, while Future Trunks grew up without Future Vegeta and in an violent apocalyptic world, causing him to be much more serious and cautious.

Trunks has a combination of both of his parents' personalities: being cocky and proud like his father while being spoiled and selfish like his mother. He refuses to respect someone that he does not like, another trait he shares with his father. This is shown when he disrespects Son Goku when they first meet, as Trunks believes he is not as strong as his father and again when he wondered why he wasn't present when his father was killed. Later on, Trunks does gain more respect for Goku after seeing Goku's Super Saiyan 3 power in action when holding off Majin Buu and starts to call him uncle in the Japanese version (like how Goten does with Vegeta). He is shown to be loving towards his parents and grandparents and will not think twice about defending his family. Trunks tends to usually take control over the younger Goten, by stating to him numerous times how he is both older and stronger (during his childhood).

In his later years, Trunks adopts a personality similar to that of his future counterpart's. During and in between his battles at the World Martial Arts Tournament, he acts just like his father does, calm when he fights and insulting his opponents. He does not act like this however during his battle with Goten because he is his best friend, or it could be because it is a battle he could possibly lose.

Due to of his maternal side of the family being scientists, he also possesses a significantly huge amount of knowledge about biological and science-related knowledge from a young age, as demonstrated in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Bio-Broly, when he correctly identifies what the Culture Tank equipment is used for at age eight, as well as correctly defining two-thirds of what biotechnology is (the only thing he was not able to answer was what genetic engineering is).

Along with inheriting the scientific mind of his mother and maternal grandfather, Trunks is also shown to possess a tactical mind just like his father and paternal grandfather, as demonstrated by his and Giru deception of Dr. Myuu and his forces on planet M-2 during the Baby Saga. During the Future Trunks Saga Trunks showed respect towards his older Future self. Soon after when his Future self was sulking he approached him and berated him for moping around after one loss and thinking that he's being a coward. When his younger sister was born, Trunks was a bit disappointed because he wanted to have a little brother to train with but he had a change of heart when he first held her and became very protective of her.

Trunks is shown to have an interest in girls as he develops a crush on Mai as well his attraction to her Future counterpart. He is also shown to get jealous when she becomes infatuated ironically with his Future counterpart, though he later on has the same reaction upon encountering Future Mai, though he and Mai eventually turn their attention back to each other.

In Dragon Ball Fusions, he ironically finds Towa very attractive upon meeting her, though he was not the only one, as Goten similarly found Towa to be beautiful. However, he is unaware of her villainous nature and antagonistic relationship with his future counterpart, Xeno Trunks, thus he is surprised by her later betrayal. Pan suspects that his interest in Towa is mainly perverted, and even angrily assumes his future counterpart did something untoward (or that Trunks was the one in the wrong) that lead Towa to want revenge, even asking Trunks what he did, despite Trunks not knowing, as he had never encountered Towa before, because Towa's encounters with his future self had occurred supposedly in the future; both were unaware that it actually involved his future time patroller counterpart and not his older self.

Appearance

Trunks Brief has his grandfather's lavender hair color (blue in the manga) and his mother's blue eyes. He has his father's eye shape, facial features and tanned skin and his hair turns blond and his eyes turn (pupil less) green when he becomes a Super Saiyan. Several characters, such as Son Goku, Krillin and Bulma, remark how much Trunks resembles Vegeta. For the majority of the Buu Saga, Present Trunks wears a dark green gi, an orange belt, orange wristbands and the same golden boots that Future Trunks wears, he also wears this in the movie, Bio-Broly. In the events of Broly - Second Coming, Trunks wears a light green long sleeve hoodie with a black short sleeve undershirt with a red collar, indigo blue denim shorts and his golden boots from his primary outfit. He later on wears Maloja's necklace. In Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Trunks wears overalls and a blue undershirt with maroon wristbands. At the end of Dragon Ball Z, Trunks now wears a black long-sleeved shirt, a golden vest, dark gray pants and the same golden boots that he wore as a child. Later on he wears a black sleeveless muscle shirt with a CAPSULE logo at the center of his shirt, gray pants and his boots from his childhood.

In Dragon Ball Super, Trunks wears a light yellow jacket with a white undershirt, jeans, and maroon wristbands. During Bulma's birthday party, he wears a Hawaiian shirt with shorts and sunglasses.

In Dragon Ball GT, Trunks wears a black long sleeved shirt with a blue bandana, brown leather gloves, a light tan jacket, white baggy short slacks and the same golden boots that he wore as a child. During the events of Baby Saga where he was possessed by Baby until the events of the Shadow Dragon Saga, he is not seen wearing his light tan jacket. His hair is now purple instead of lavender.

Abilities

Trunks Brief was able to achieve the Super Saiyan form much earlier than his father. Due to a combination of his Saiyan heritage and having to trained under his father Vegeta at an early age, Trunks was a capable fighter. He continuously trains with his father, Vegeta, in the Gravity Room because Vegeta wants Trunks to be stronger than Gohan. While preparing for the 25th World Martial Arts tournament, training under 100 times gravity is challenging for Trunks. However, when he transforms into a Super Saiyan, he is able to move easily in the Gravity Room.

At the age of eight, he became the Junior Division Champion of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament following his defeat of Goten (as he won by cheating as stated by Goten). Due to his strong friendship and friendly rivalry with Goten, both are shown to work well as a team, this made him and Goten ideal candidates for learning the Fusion Dance. In the anime, after training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a week and managing to have Gotenks achieve Super Saiyan 3, Trunks states that he and Goten have become more than twice as strong as before.

However it was too dangerous for Trunks (as well as Goten) to confront villains such as Majin Buu without either the assistance of the other Z Fighters and/or the use of the Fusion Dance to turn into the mighty Gotenks. When peace came after defeating Majin Buu, Trunks didn't train. During the Super 17 Saga of Dragon Ball GT, in his base form Trunks is strong enough to defeat Yakon with a single ki blast and can easily destroy Android 19 when he and Goten fire a combined ki blast at him. Trunks also possess sword skills, as shown when he wields the Brave Sword as an adult in Dragon Ball GT.

Super Saiyan

Dbz207-30

Trunks as a super saiyan.

Trunks gains the power to become a Super Saiyan at a very young age. He first transforms onscreen during his training with his father, while they are preparing for the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament; the Super Saiyan transformation allows Trunks to withstand, and easily run around under at least 450 times the gravity of Earth, which he was barely able to walk around before transforming. He briefly uses the Super Saiyan form to fight Goten during the Grand Finals of Junior Division, and he uses it several more times during battles in Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT.

Super Saiyan 3

Like Future Trunks, Present Trunks has this form as an adult in the arcade game Dragon Ball Heroes. He also appears in this form in the spin-off manga Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission. In the FUNimation dub of the episode "Super Saiyan 4 Fusion", Goten mentions that at some point in the past, he and Trunks took the Super Saiyan 3 form, and then fused.

Gotenks

Gotenks is the fusion created when Trunks and Goten perform the Fusion Dance.

GTGotenks1(JM1Trailer)

Gotenks as an adult.

Gotenks' power far surpasses either of the fighters' individual strengths, as he attains not only the Super Saiyan form, but also the Super Saiyan 3 form. Trunks and Goten are capable of fusing into Gotenks within 0.05 seconds.[7] They use the technique several times as kids. As young adults, in Dragon Ball GT, Trunks and Goten are tempted to fuse into Gotenks to try and help their fathers but are told not to by Gohan. The Fused Warrior Gotenks shares both Trunks and Goten's playfulness as well as their special attacks and new moves that Goten and Trunks do not have, such as Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack as well as Galactic Donut or Charging Ultra Buu Buu Volleyball. The Adult version of Gotenks featured in Dragon Ball Heroes has a new super attack called Burning Kamehameha.

Dragon Ball Z (Anime)

Trunks arc

In Dragon Ball Z, Trunks first makes an appearance in the series as his 17 year old alternate future counterpart. Upon arrival, Trunks transforms into a Super Saiyan and easily defeats Frieza with his sword and his father King Cold with a powerful energy wave. He, along with the other Z Fighters, then await for Goku's return to Earth. Once Goku arrives, Trunks tells of the horrors that will soon unfold. He explains that in three years, on the morning of May 12 at 10:00 a.m., two tremendously powerful androids will appear, kill all of the Z Fighters, and will reign destruction upon the Earth for nearly two decades. He also tells of Goku's death from a heart virus six months before the androids attack. After giving Goku an antidote for the virus, Future Trunks takes his leave back to his time.

Androids & Cell arc

Two years after Future Trunks' arrival, the present Trunks is born to Vegeta and Bulma. Initially, he was raised by his mother and his father periodically saw him while he and the rest of the Z Fighters prepared for the battle against the androids. A year later, Future Trunks returns to help the Z Fighters fight the androids. Future Trunks, along with the other Z Fighters, have the main roles of defeating the androids, and eventually the evil Cell.

Cell Games arc

After Cell's defeat at the hands of Son Gohan, Future Trunks returns to his time much more powerful than before, and effortlessly kills both Future Android 17 and Future Android 18. He also planned to kill Cell in his time (in Trunks' time, Cell was still in his first form so he was easily defeated). After Future Trunks had destroyed the androids, he continued living in his timeline with his mother.

The World Tournament arc

"I guess I'll go... super".
— Trunks, moments before turning into a Super Saiyan in front of his father for the first time (English Version)

Seven years following Cell's defeat, present Trunks takes a much larger role. Trunks is eight years old and fantastically strong for his age. He was trained by Vegeta since he learned how to walk. As a result, he was able to transform into a Super Saiyan at age 8, as well as become acclimated to the state without Vegeta's knowledge. This is first shown on-screen while he is training in a Gravity Room with Vegeta, when he cannot handle the gravity in his normal state. He then transforms out of nowhere and leaps around naturally in gravity that at first was supposedly overwhelming him. This comes as a massive shock to Vegeta considering his young age, but makes him proud to see his son becoming stronger.

In the Junior Division of the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, Trunks makes it all the way to the grand finals and becomes the new junior champion by defeating his best friend Goten, the second son of Goku and Chi-Chi (by becoming a Super Saiyan, firing an energy blast which knocked Goten out of the ring, and using his left arm; all three of which Trunks had agreed not to do, though Goten had cheated too and became a Super Saiyan earlier in the fight). When Trunks is set up against Mr. Satan, Satan asks him to only lightly tap in on the face, knowing how much power Trunks has. However even Trunks' light tap is enough to launch Mr. Satan out of the ring, allowing Trunks to win the match. However, the crowd thinks Mr. Satan did it deliberately to be nice to Trunks.

Majin Buu arc

He and Goten then compete in the adult division disguised as Mighty Mask, but Android 18 realizes this and blows their cover with a Destructo Disk while in the match, disqualifying them.

Shortly after Trunks learned about Majin Buu from Videl, he tries to help his father battle the monster. Trunks wants to stay and help his father fight Majin Buu and is hugged for the first time by his father, but he and Goten are knocked out by Vegeta who blew himself up to try to destroy Majin Buu, albeit failing. The boys are taken to Kami's Lookout to take shelter from Majin Buu. When they wake up, the boys learn that Vegeta and Son Gohan are dead, which makes them cry, and Trunks angrily asks Goku why he did not save his father. Goku tells them about the Fusion Dance to defeat Majin Buu. Babidi makes an announcement to the world that if Goten, Trunks and Piccolo do not come out of hiding they are going to destroy West City. Trunks must rush to Capsule Corporation to get the Dragon Radar.

Goku intercepts Babidi and Majin Buu, and shows them the Super Saiyan 3 form. Majin Buu and Goku fight while Trunks gets the Dragon Radar. Later, Trunks returns to the Lookout with the Dragon Radar and shows Goku his respect. Then, Goku shows them the Fusion Dance and, only in the anime, shows them Super Saiyan 3. However, Goku's time on Earth is ended and he leaves Piccolo to teach the boys the rest of the Fusion Dance. Everyone on Kami's Lookout says goodbye to Goku as he leaves with Fortuneteller Baba to the Other World.

Fusion Dance arc

In the Fusion Saga (a subset of the Buu Saga), Trunks and Goten fight Majin Buu, both separately and by joining together into the temporarily-fused being Gotenks, but with a couple of failed attempts. When Super Buu arrives at the Lookout, Trunks and Goten enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to train.

Later, Super Buu and Piccolo enter, and just before the two boys get to fuse, Super Buu punches Trunks. They do fuse into Gotenks, but are not strong enough to beat him. When Gotenks pretended to be tired and low on energy, Piccolo destroys the entrance to the chamber, but Super Buu escapes and eats the remaining Z-Fighters and support on the Lookout. Gotenks finally escapes, thanks to his Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and they fight Buu again, almost defeating him until they defuse right at the killing blow.

Trunks and Goten witness Gohan returning from the Supreme Kai's planet with his new powers and easily overpowering Super Buu. When Super Buu escapes, the crew find Dende, picking up Mr. Satan and his dog along the way. When Super Buu asks for a rematch against Gotenks, they fuse, but Super Buu tricks them and absorbs them to become stronger. After being set free from Super Buu by the newly revived Goku and the still deceased Vegeta, Trunks is killed along with Goten, Piccolo, and Gohan when Kid Buu uses the Planet Burst attack and destroys the Earth.

Kid Buu & Uub arc

Trunks is later revived by the Namekian Dragon Balls, and lends energy to Goku's Super Spirit Bomb when Vegeta makes a request for energy to all the Earthlings and its creatures. He and Goten also get a group of people to lend a hand as well. When Kid Buu is decimated, Trunks and his friends return to Kami's Lookout, soon joined by Vegeta, Goku, Mr. Buu, Dende, and Mr. Satan. He is thrilled to see his father again and runs to him with his mother, rejoicing in open arms. The peace is disrupted when Trunks spots Buu near Mr. Satan, not knowing Buu has turned to the good side. In anger, Trunks prepares an energy attack to fire, but Goku and Vegeta manages to explain the situation, and the group discuss their adventure. Trunks is later seen at a party at his home in celebration of their victory.

Ten years pass after Kid Buu's defeat, 18-year-old Trunks has a new younger sister named Bulla. He is forced by Vegeta to compete in the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament. Although in the original Japanese dialogue, there is no mention of a girlfriend by Trunks, in the FUNimation dub, Trunks promises Goten that he would introduce him to his girlfriend after the tournament (of which his girlfriend is also watching). He ends up being paired up with Otokosuki, much to his extreme discomfort because of the latter's sexuality. Trunks is not seen competing in this tournament, due to Goku and Uub's leaving the competition at the end of the series. He is seen, however, holding Pan's arm in victory over defeating Goten.

Dragon Ball Super (Anime)

Battle of Gods arc

After the battle with Kid Buu, Trunks and Goten wish to give Videl a wedding present, but Goten cannot afford anything substantial. They start by getting jewelry but it is too much for Goten. Almost giving up, Trunks tells Goten what Bulma told him about cosmetics that Videl needs cosmetics to keep her skin smooth and wrinkle free. They hear from an old man in a store complaining about the prices of the cosmetics, bragging that his hot springs have water that can turn even the most wrinkled of skin as smooth as silk, with both Trunks and Goten deeming it a great gift for Videl.

After following the directions given to them by the old man, Trunks and Goten find the hot springs where the water is located, but after seeing many people already using it, they proceed to the nearest river and collect a jug's worth of water, until they are attacked by a giant snake. Dodging the snake's swift movements, Trunks and Goten protect the jug until Trunks finally defeats the snake and the two proceed to fly back to Gohan's house in order to drop off the present.

The next day, Trunks goes to a resort area with his parents for a family vacation. He was delighted to have his first family vacation with both of his parents, as Vegeta had taken time off from training to fulfill his promise to Trunks from their training prior to the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. Even though Vegeta takes off after being annoyed by the public, Trunks had a great time spending time with his parents, especially thanking Vegeta.

Trunks goes to his mother's birthday party and meets Goten there and they both go off below the deck so Trunks can show Goten the Dragon Balls. He shows him how the container, where the Dragon Balls were, worked by showing him the flaws of Bulma's inventions.

On their way back to the deck, they encounter Pilaf, Mai, and Shu on the side of Bulma's ship. Trunks and Goten rescue them and offered them for food which Pilaf declines. However, even though Pilaf declined the food offer, Trunks and Goten still brought food to Pilaf, Shu, and Mai. Trunks and Goten play games on during the party. Trunks and Goten started to play with water guns throughout the ship. While playing, Trunks shoots Beerus in the face by accident and gets him angry. He then apologize to Beerus and runs away with Goten. Trunks then witness his father battle Beerus. Then later witnesses Goku battle Beerus. After Beerus leaves, Trunks enjoys his mother's party.

Resurrection F arc

When Jaco arrives on Earth to warn Bulma of the upcoming Frieza arriving on Earth for vengeance, he and Goten come into contact into him when looks for Bulma. He then touches his skin and face to make sure they are not tights and a mask with Goten accidentally taking off one of his wireless radios on his ears. They then play around with his ship and Jaco encourages them to play which leads to them accidentally closing the hatch and crashing it into the pond resulting in them being sent to their rooms as punishment.

Later on, while the Z Fighters were fighting Frieza and his forces, Trunks and Goten were playing ball outside when they sensed Tagoma's ki and decided to join in the fight. After fighting Ginyu in Tagoma's body as Gotenks and defusing from the fusion, Trunks and Goten go hide with Bulma and Jaco. In desperate need of Goku and Vegeta, Trunks helps Bulma and Goten summon Whis. However, when Goku and Vegeta arrive, Goku sends Trunks and Goten to The Lookout to tell Dende what happened and additionally, the location is too dangerous for them.

He is killed when the planet explodes, but Whis uses his Temporal Do-Over technique to undo the damage, undoing Trunks' death in the process. After killing Frieza, Goku tells Trunks all about what happened while they were away at the Capsule Corporation. Trunks later said that he and Goten would take of Frieza next time he gets resurrected and will finish him off by slicing him in half. Everyone acts surprised because that's something that Future Trunks already did in the past but the present Trunks hasn't heard about it. and he later attends the party thrown by Bulma with his friends and family.

Universe 6 arc

Trunks is present with his friends and family, cheering on the team of Universe 7 during the Universe 6 and 7 Gods of Destruction Selection Martial Arts Competition. Trunks is also present as Beerus and Whis use the Super Dragon Balls to summon Super Shenron, then returns to Earth.

Potaufeu arc

Trunks attends the Universe 7 victory celebration with his friends and family, being told by Beerus to protect the fact that Monaka is weak as a secret from Goku. When Goku shows desperation to fight with Monaka, Goten suggests that Monaka could have the ability to "transform". Trunks then whispers something in Beerus' ear. While Goku was being distracted, Beerus dons the life-size Monaka costume created by Mr. Satan, and fights with Goku. Eventually, the battle is over, and the situation ends on a good note as Goku never realized that Monaka was an amateur and is even more motivated to train after fighting with him.

While Goten and Trunks are flying towards Capsule Corp, they notice Monaka's delivery truck, but finding out that Monaka is not present. Goten and Trunks then make their way inside the back of Monaka's truck, by having fun with the items present in there. When they blow up a blow-up doll, the force calls the truck to bounce off the ground, closing the door and trapping them inside. Trunks prepares to blow the door open but does not want Monaka to get in trouble for having the truck damaged. They then wait for Monaka, who immediately climbs in his truck and flies off into space with the two boys still inside.

On the way to Planet Potaufeu, Goten and Trunks are freezing in the truck due to being in outer space. Monaka then arrives to Potaufeu, and opens the back door, discovering Goten and Trunks frozen solid and manages to thaw them. Potage, the planet's only inhabitant, appears and greets Monaka, and the intergalactic criminal Gryll confronts the group with his henchmen. Goten and Trunks realize Potage is in trouble, and easily defeat the henchmen, forcing them to retreat. They later reappear, holding the key to the seal of the "Superhuman Water". Goten and Trunks prepare to take the key back, but they remain still, realizing that Monaka has been taken hostage. Goten is tied up along with Trunks and Potage, as Gryll opens the seal to the Superhuman Water. Later, Goten and Trunks are being chased, while carrying Potage and Monaka, by Gryll and his henchmen, who are now purple. Trunks is then knocked down by an attack, and is attacked again, but he is saved by the timely arrival of Vegeta and Jaco, while Vegeta deflects the attack.

Trunks witnesses Vegeta easily defeating Gryll's henchmen, and being absorbed by the "Superhuman Water" and an exact copy of him is created. Trunks is about to be absorbed by Copy-Vegeta next, but Copy-Vegeta hesitates before attacking him. He is then saved by Jaco. Trunks later retreats while carrying Potage and a drained Vegeta, while Goten carries Potage, and Jaco also retreats. In a secure spot, Potage explains the truth about the "Superhuman Water", which is actually a weapon named Commeson, and they learn that Copy-Vegeta must be defeated in order to save Vegeta's life. Copy-Vegeta later confronts the two boys, who then fuse into Gotenks and engage in battle with him. Even as a Super Saiyan 3, Gotenks cannot deal any damage to Copy-Vegeta, and is defeated by a few blows. Fallen, Goten and Trunks are about to be finished off by Copy-Vegeta, but they are saved by Goku's timely arrival. Trunks tries to inform Goku to defeat Copy-Vegeta quickly, as he is an impostor.

Trunks watches as Goku and Copy-Vegeta fight an evenly-matched battle. As Vegeta begins to instinctively cheer for his copy to win, Trunks reminds his father of the circumstances. Both Goku and Copy-Vegeta then transform into a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, and Trunks realizes that the fight could take too long, and asks Potage if there is another way to save Vegeta. Potage answers that if the core is crushed, the copy will become weaker. Trunks takes Potage to find the core of Commeson, which was Copy-Gryll, while Goten and Jaco accompany them. They notice that the core has left the spot where Copy-Gryll was knocked into.

As the Commeson core tries to attack Goten, Trunks and Jaco blast it, which passes through it. They then run away from Commeson. Trunks tells Jaco, who is worried about a copy of him being made, that he would quickly defeat his copy. Trunks begins to notice Vegeta's ki disappearing, and rushes to his father's side. As Goku and Copy-Vegeta's battle causes a bright light and a shockwave, Commeson tries to attack Trunks from behind, but Vegeta stands in-between them as his body is disappearing. Monaka casually and nonchalantly steps on the core, which destroys it, and damages Copy-Vegeta, and Goku is able to finish him off. With Vegeta's life saved, Trunks happily hugs his father. The group then say goodbye to Potage as they teleport back to Earth. As they arrive on Earth, Trunks is scolded by Bulma about sneaking onto a spacecraft.

Future Trunks arc

Trunks, along with Pilaf, Mai and Shu, are being taught mathematics by a private instructor at Capsule Corp. While Pilaf (in a complicated manner) explains to Trunks a math equation he did not know how to solve. As they are eating lunch, Trunks sees Future Trunks' time machine land, and inspects it. However he also noticing Future Trunks inside, beaten and unconscious. As Bulma lays Future Trunks in a bed, Trunks is confused on who he is, especially after Pilaf and the gang's assumptions on Bulma being apart of a "scandal" as the two boys look very similar. When Bulma calls Goku and Vegeta and tells him about Future Trunks, Trunks is even more confused, as they are also referring to him as "Trunks". As Trunks asks who Future Trunks is, Bulma orders him to power up so Goku can lock onto his ki and teleport back to Earth. When Goku arrives back with Senzu Beans, Bulma feeds one to Future Trunks, and is surprised to see him suddenly wake up and attack Goku.

Trunks later learns that the older Trunks he is seeing is himself from the future. Future Trunks and Trunks greet each other. Trunks is later seen checking out the Time Machine with the Pilaf Gang. He later watches Goku and Future Trunks spar, as well as witnessing the arrival of Black Goku. He is shown to got jealous when Mai falls in love with Future Trunks. When the time machine is completely repaired, Trunks proudly exclaims that he helped. He then watches as Future Trunks, Vegeta and Goku travel to the future.

Later on, Trunks is laying outside as he is surprised to see the time machine return, with the beaten Goku, Vegeta and Future Trunks falling out of it. He calls for Bulma as he is greatly worried for his father and his condition. After the trio are given Senzu Beans, Trunks asks them if they were unable to defeat Black Goku, he was quite shocked to learn from them that not only Future Zamasu was his ally and immortal but also transformed into a powerful Super Saiyan called Super Saiyan Rosé. After Whis, Beerus, Supreme Kai Goku head to Universe 10 to check Gowasu current state, Trunks is seen confronting his future self asking him if he is sulking because he was defeated and despite that he is still calling himself Trunks. Future Trunks told him politely to leave him alone, Trunks begins to feel very disappointed of his future self and that because of his current state he is unable to protect Future Mai. He told him if he is frustrated and angry, he must defeat him in a battle with Trunks making the first move by punching his future self, he quickly orders Future Trunks to stand up as he is supposed to be a Saiyan.

After a brief fight, Future Trunks finally realises what his past self is trying to teach him: win no matter who the oppenent is. He shakes hands with him and thanks him for bringing him bach to his senses.Suddenly, Beerus and the group arrives and infroms them of Zamsu's demise and that the future should be safe, however, Future Trunks still feels uneasy about the situation and decides to head to the future to ckeck things out. Trunks asks him the reason why he doesn't believe Beerus , Future Trunks responds that it's true he is himself from the future but the future he came from is from a diffferent timeline. Future Trunks begins to explain how his life is different from his and that he never met his father as he was killed six months after his birth by Future Android 17 and Future Android 18 and that Future Goku also died due to a heart Virus, and that the first time he came to past he gave Goku the heart medecine so it would save him. Trunks asks him why Goku isn't alive in the future despite being saved in the past and that he learned from a book that if you change the past you change the future. Future Trunks told his despite the world he came from and his world are the same, they become different worlds as the two of them are living a different life. Trunks feels convinced about his future self suspicions. He later bides farewell to his future self wishing him the best from the bottom of his heart.

Later on Trunks watch as the time machine lands in front of them, with Trunks surprised that Future Trunks isn't with everyone else. He then goes to see Goten. He then flys off with Goten as they are spotted by Chi-Chi and Gohan. They two try to ask Bulma if Trunks can help Future Trunks, but she forbids it. However they see Gohan and Chi-Chi come to their location. Bulma quickly tells Trunks and Goten to hide as they both land. Trunks and Goten crawl away but they are stopped by Vegeta, and Chi-Chi spots them, beginning to scold Goten. Trunks then sees Piccolo use the Evil Containment Wave.

Afterwards Master Roshi calls him by telling him that Goku left the paper amulet, and Trunks tells this to Piccolo.

Universe Survival arc

Trunks is at his house, telling Goten his now pregnant mother is due to give birth any day and he is excited about becoming an older brother. He asks Goten to not go training with Goku for the upcoming Tournament of Power because he is bored training with Mai, Shu, and Pilaf. Goten agrees to stay but Trunks says he can't go far because of the baby. They have a quick spar when Goku unsuccessfully asks Vegeta to participate in the Zen Exhibition Match and Trunks punches Goten who looked away to greet Goku. While recruiting members for Universe 7, Shin suggested Trunks and Goten because they have potential but Goku refuses because their rivalry would be an issue and they tend to rush into battle straightforwardly. Shortly after, Trunks is told by Vegeta to finish getting the baby's room ready. Trunks orders Goten to put the bed is different spots until Goten complains it doesn't matter where it goes. Gohan comes into the room to tell Trunks the baby has been born, much to Trunks' surprise. Because Gohan forgot to ask if the baby is a boy or girl, Goten says having a brother would mean Trunks can train with him, and Trunks favors this more. Gohan however says having a sister is fun too because she will be cute like Pan, but Trunks says he prefers training and therefore prefers a brother. When Trunks meets his sister Bulla, he is disappointed she is a girl and refuses to hold her at first but Bulma puts her in his arms. Trunks becomes soften as Bulla smiles at him and he asks Vegeta if he wants to hold her. Vegeta asks the baby to be given to him because Trunks isn't holding her properly, prompting Trunks to say Vegeta knows a lot about that. The next day, Trunks tries to change Bulla's diaper but ends up calling Vegeta for help. After Vegeta effortlessly changes the diaper, Trunks smiles and laughs with Bulla and remarks she feels better.

An hour before the tournament is scheduled to begin, Trunks questions why Frieza's picture is on the team member board. Goku tells Bulma that Trunks and Goten don't know about the tournament and Vegeta says them knowing will be a bother. Bulma lies to Trunks that everyone on the board is invited to a celebration for Bulla's birth but when Trunks points out Frieza is evil, Vegeta lies that Frieza has redeemed. Goku then asks Trunks if he wants to guard Android 17's island from poachers so 17 can attend. Trunks excitedly agrees and travels with Goten, Krillin, 18, and Marron to the island. 17 leaves with Krillin and 18 whereas Trunks stays on the island with Goten and Marron.

In the manga, as he is heading to meet Team Universe 7 after having dropped Goten and Trunks at Monster Island, Android 17 realizes he forgot to tell them about the Cell Jrs. At the same time the Cell Jrs. encounter Goten and Trunks, one attacks Trunks, prompting the two Saiyans to become Super Saiyans. A seven on two battle then breaks out until one of the Cell Jrs. notices that Trunks and Goten are wearing ranger uniforms, the fighting stops and the Cell Jrs. apologize and leave.

In the anime, Trunks reappears during the final moments of the saga, revealing Goten and himself lived up to their end of the deal and protected 17's island, only suffering minor injuries from their ordeal. Later he celebrates his baby sister's birth and then with Goten presumably is trusted to watch 17's island again as he takes his family on a cruise.

Black Star Dragon Balls arc

"Man, this guy really needs to go out more".
— Trunks, after being called cute by Zoonama (English Version)

5 years later (10 years in the English Version) in Dragon Ball GT, Trunks is now 23 years old (28 years old in the English Version). Trunks has become the President of Capsule Corporation. Although it pays quite well (so well that he can afford his own chauffeur and servants), he does not like the job and its overwhelming responsibilities, and will often slip out the window and fly away.

Forced by Vegeta, Trunks goes on a journey with Son Goku and Pan (who replaced Goten) in a spaceship designed by Bulma. Later, a piece of the ship falls off and Goku, Trunks, and Pan are forced to crash land on the planet Imecka to get the parts needed to repair the ship. Groups of merchants then swarm Trunks and the others to the point that they take refuge from them in the Gold Star Hotel. They then realize they are being charged every second for everything in the hotel. They escape without paying and stumble upon the house of an old couple and their children. They talk about Don Kee the ruler of the planet and how he mistreats his rule; just then his men came and repossessed the old couple's house saying they were behind payment. Goku suggests that they go and fight Don Kee but the couple says that is impossible because of his grand army. On their way back to the ship Trunks drops the Dragon Radar and it is swallowed by the small T-2006 series robot nicknamed Giru who says that he can not give the radar back to them because it is already integrated into his system. Trunks becomes furious and starts chasing after Giru.

Meanwhile, Goku notices the ship being dragged away by Don Kee's men. He tries to use Instant Transmission to teleport them to the ship but after two failed attempts realizes that he can not use it in his small body. They are forced to travel to Don Kee's palace on foot to recover their ship. Pan decides that they will use a stealth operation to recover the ship and would only result to fighting as a last resort. After briefly sneaking around, a large rock falls on Trunks' head and Giru starts making noises that alarm the guards. The guards open fire on the group. Pan jumps in the carrying car while Goku moves the ship onto the car, and Pan drives the ship out of the palace with Goku and Trunks. But while escaping, Don Kee's henchmen Gale and Sheela fire a combined Energy Wave at Goku, who deflects it back with ease towards Ledgic, Don Kee's right hand man, who recognizes them as Saiyans.

Goku and the others escape but Trunks says they have to go back into town for more parts due to Pan's "reckless driving". Once they reach the town, everyone hides and Trunks finds the three of them on Imecka's most wanted list. While running from Don Kee's men they fall into the house of a nice old couple who offer them food after realizing Goku and company mean no harm. They say that Don Kee made it a law that no one is allowed to own a ship so that no one would escape the planet including the old couple.

Pan gets fed up and convinces Goku and Trunks to go face Don Kee head on. They turn themselves in to the police and get brought to the palace. Once there, Goku, Trunks, and Pan incapacitate Gale, Sheela, and all of Don Kee's guards, and they make their way into Don Kee's throne-room. Don Kee sicks Ledgic on the fighters after capturing Pan in an energy chamber. Trunks charges at him a bit angry, but Ledgic moves too quick and takes him down. Worried, Goku tells Trunks to help Pan while he will take over. After a short fight, Goku defeats Ledgic, and the gang then takes down Don Kee, make him give everyone free rent and give them back their ships free of charge. Plus, Don Kee gives them the parts they need for free and they leave Imecka.

The gang then land on a planet where everything is larger than life. They find the Four-Star Ball in the tooth of a giant and they go to the next planet.

On planet Gelbo they find the Six-Star Ball in the hair of the princess of the village, Leena. Trunks asks for the ball but her fiance Doma said that they were in a large problem already. The amphibian creature Zoonama would keep on terrifying the village, if they did not give him a wife. The villagers had agreed on Leena for his bride. Goku, Trunks, and Pan decide that they will help them out in exchange for the Dragon Ball and they agree. Pan comes up with the idea to disguise Trunks as Leena (it was originally Goku but he was too small, much to Trunks' dismay). Zoonama comes and takes Trunks to his lair. His wig then falls off, revealing himself. However, Zoonama thinks Trunks is a woman with short hair, calls him cute, and forgives him. Trunks gets Zoonama tipsy and Goku arrives with Pan and Doma. Doma cuts off Zoonama's left whisker with a huge pair of scissors and as he cuts off the left one Zoonama awakens in a drunken rage.

He begins to wiggle his whiskers and an earthquake begins to come, but stops soon after, while Zoonama continues to wiggle his whisker. Pan realizes that he can not cause earthquakes, but only predict them. But, now he is so tipsy, that he did not realize that the quake was over. Suddenly a really big earthquake erupts and Goku and the others leave the cavern with Zoonama, because they are under a volcano that is starting to erupt because of the earthquake. Goku stops the huge volcano with a Kamehameha, saving the village and winning the Dragon Ball. Just as they are leaving the planet, Bon Para, one of the mysterious Para Brothers, arrives and takes the ball from Pan's hands using his telekinesis. In shock the three Z Fighters just watch as he leaves.

Trunks then jumps in the ship with Pan and Goku and they chase after the Para Brothers' spaceship. The brothers trick them onto the asteroid of Beehay inhabited by huge bloodthirsty worm-like creatures called Mouma. The Para Brothers escape and fly to planet Luud. They go to Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy who tells them that they have failed and that Trunks has another Dragon Ball on his ship that they failed to get and they must go retrieve it. They travel back to find Goku and the others and they get hypnotized by the Para Para Boogie until they are saved by the hungry Mouma. Pan goes aboard the Para Brothers' spaceship to find the Dragon Ball that they stole. She accidentally activates the auto-pilot and is brought to planet Luud. There she is captured and turned into a doll for the evil lord Dolltaki. Goku shows up with Trunks and kills Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy who reveals that he is actually two parts, the body and the whip which transforms into Mutchy and fights Goku. Trunks finishes Mutchy off with the Brave Cannon and saves Goku from Mutchy's whip-like arms.

Then Dolltaki turns everyone except for Trunks, himself, Goku, and Pan into dolls and feeds them to the machine deity called Luud. Dolltaki then awakens Luud who takes him and Pan inside of Luud's body to gain their energy. While Luud fights Goku and Trunks, Pan forces Dolltaki to tell her the weakness of the seemingly invincible Luud. Dolltaki reveals that Goku must strike the outside of Luud's mechanical heart while Pan strikes the inside at exactly the same time. After multiple tries, Goku and Pan finally succeed and destroyed Luud freeing all of the people. Trunks then takes back his Dragon Ball and they leave the planet.

Baby arc

On planet Pital, Baby possesses Trunks a brief moment. Trunks drives him out by transforming into a Super Saiyan, which removes Baby from his body. In fact, Baby only wanted to place an egg in Trunks to be later activated on Earth. As a servant of Baby, Trunks helps to power him up to defeat Goku on Earth. On the reconstituted New Planet Plant, he, Goten, and Gohan try to save their new lord from Uub, who seems to overpower him. However, Baby was just playing with Uub, and blasts his slaves into unconsciousness for their interference. Trunks is the first to be cured by the Sacred Water, and after being cured, he along with Gohan and Goten help to restore the energy of Super Saiyan 4 Goku so that he can finish off Baby.

Trunks appears to have inherited his mother's fascination with technology. He gets distracted by the gadgets on the hospital planet, allowing Baby to sneak up on him. This turns out to have been a plan to lure the villain into a trap however, as Goku, Trunks, and Pan could sense Baby's ki when he got excited about hunting them.

Super 17 arc

After the defeat of Baby, Trunks sneaks away from work to see the 31st World Martial Arts Tournament. Due to the fact that it was too late for him to compete, he observes the matches along with Son Gohan, Videl, and Kuririn. Trunks is now 24 years old (29 years old in the English Version)

Later, Trunks is ambushed by a brainwashed Android 17. Wounded, he goes to Chi-Chi's house to warn the group. Later, Trunks joins up with Son Goten, Majuub, Pan, Gohan and Vegeta to fight countless villains who have escaped from Hell: Trunks saves Goten from Yakon, they then successfully defeat Android 19. With Majuub, they successfully defeat an invasion of Saibamen. Trunks then joins the fight against Super 17, but is unable to defeat him even with the help of Gohan, Goten, Majuub, and his father Vegeta. Eventually, Super 17 is defeated by Goku (who was previously trapped in Hell) with the help of Android 18. Trunks is then taken back to Capsule Corporation by his father to recover from his injuries. After repairing Giru, they search for the Dragon Balls on Earth to repair all the damage caused on the planet.

Shadow Dragons arc

When Black Smoke Shenron rises from the Dragon Balls to the Z Fighters, Trunks is shown attempting to calm his mother after Old Kai claimed she was responsible for Black Smoke Shenron's existence. Later, against Syn Shenron, Trunks tries to restore Son Goku's energy once again along with Son Goten and Son Gohan. After the dragon transforms into Omega Shenron and Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta suggests he and Goku fuse to defeat him, Trunks along with Gohan, Goten and Majuub tries to hold off Omega long enough for Goku and Vegeta to fuse. Trunks is the last person to stall Omega by performing an Explosive Wave to distract the dragon while Goku and Vegeta perform the Fusion Dance. They are successful with Goku and Vegeta forming Gogeta, however Gogeta defuses before he can finish Omega off.

Later on when Goku is presumed dead by Omega Shenron, Vegeta decides the Earth's best bet is for him to try and defeat Omega Shenron while everyone else escapes. Before sending them off, Vegeta requests that Goten, Gohan, Trunks continue the fight if he fails. The three half-Saiyans say goodbye to their families and decide to go back to help Vegeta in the fight but they are all easily defeated. However they do succeed in distracting Omega long enough for Goku to charge his Universal Spirit Bomb which destroys the Shadow Dragon. Trunks is last seen telling Pan that the Dragon Balls will come back after the Earthlings have to prove to them selves that they can take care of them selves without the Dragon Balls.

Dragon Ball Z movie 10

"I don't really care if you are an almighty Super Saiyan... you're still a jerk!"
— Trunks in the final battle against Broly (English Verison)

A Saiyan space pod flying through space crash-lands on Earth out of which a wounded Broly crawls out. The Legendary Super Saiyan falls into deep sleep and reverts to the Super Saiyan state as the crater freezes over him. Seven years later, Son Goku is dead having sacrificed his life to save the Earth from Cell. Goten, Trunks, and Videl search for the magical Dragon Balls and encounter the cursed village, Nataday. With the villagers haunted by a supposed monster, they are prompted by their priest to conduct human sacrifice to appease the threat. Goten, Trunks, and Videl devise a plan to bait the supposed monster. However, when Goten inadvertently obstructs the plan, Videl slaps him and he soon begins to cry. The supposed monster, a dinosaur, is drawn out but is quickly vanquished by Goten and Trunks. With the priest exiled and Nataday peaceful, the group depart to continue their Dragon Ball search.

Unbeknown to the group, Goten's cries awaken Broly as he emerges from the frozen crater. As night falls the group rests having collected six of the seven Dragon Balls. When a loud eruption occurs, Videl takes off to investigate leaving Goten and Trunks to sleep. She soon encounters Broly and proves to be no match for him. As she is left unconscious Goten and Trunks arrive hesitant to engage him. Goten is soon targeted by Broly, whose mental state has deteriorated to the point that he confuses Goten for his father Goku. Goten and Trunks ascend to their Super Saiyan state and battle Broly in vain effort. Goten catches a glimps of the seventh and final Dragon Ball before he and Trunks are struck down by Broly. Goten's older brother Gohan lands within the battle just in time to save them as Videl returns to consciousness. Noting Gohan's own resemblance to Goku, Broly shifts his focus towards him. As Goten, Trunks and Videl attempt to gather the Dragon Balls, Broly, vastly outmatching Gohan, taunts the Saiyan and directs a lethal sphere of energy towards them. In great distress, Gohan races towards them and attempts to deflect it and shield them from the blast. The ensuing explosion blows them all away.

Gohan struggles to his feet and transforms into the Super Saiyan 2 state in a last-ditch effort to defeat Broly, though it is outdone by Broly's transcension to his Legendary Super Saiyan form. Although overpowered following a heavy one-sided fight, Gohan is able to land a few good hits and successfully lures Broly into a pit of volcanic lava, reverting from his state a weakened and exhausted Saiyan, but is rescued by Krillin before the lava can reach him. Moments later, Broly reemerges from the pit radiating energy having humored Gohan's attempt, and subdues Krillin easily. Left powerless, Gohan is crushed by Broly as Videl unsuccessfully attempts to intervene. Heartened by Videl's effort, Gohan frees himself from Broly's assault and in a final burst of emotion, fires the Kamehameha energy wave towards Broly. The Legendary Super Saiyan hurls a gigantic sphere of energy at Gohan, absorbing the continuous energy wave. The glow of the now gathered seven Dragon Balls awakens Goten who races towards his brother, joining him in propelling the Kamehameha wave. With Broly's gigantic sphere absorbing the brothers' wave and pushing further towards them, a daunted Goten wishes his father was present. Miraculously, the Dragon Balls seemingly grant Goten's desperate wish as the sky darkens and the two brothers hear Goku's voice from within. The image of their father appears behind them as he joins them in their struggle, coaching their effort. However, their push remains futile as Broly energizes the overwhelming sphere. With little strength remaining, Trunks shoots his gathered energy at the giant sphere, creating a barrier between it and Broly's power. With Broly distracted, the family of Saiyans unleash a final push propelling the Kamehameha wave and sending it straight through Broly's sphere. The beam hits Broly directly and pushes him all the way to the Sun, where he is seemingly obliterated.

As the sky begins to clear and the Dragon Balls disperse, Goku is nowhere to be seen, leaving both brothers to wonder whether or not their father was really with them. Videl catches up with Gohan and chases him into the distance as the others look on with amusement.

Dragon Ball Z movie 11

In a dark laboratory on a distant island, strangely-coloured humanoids emerge from tanks, having been created by Dr. Collie. Collie's employer, Mr. Jaguar, plans to use these men to expose the "world's greatest fraud", and laughs madly as a furry tail is shown in a distant tank.

At Mr. Satan's house, Android 18 is wrecking Mr. Satan's room since he has yet to pay her for throwing the World Tournament Final, with Kuririn, Trunks, Son Goten and Marron waiting outside. Just then, Mr. Jaguar's cousin, Men-Men, arrives and speaks with Mr. Satan, telling him that Mr. Jaguar, who was Mr. Satan's fighting rival at summer camp, has requested his presence at his island laboratory to have him fight his special fighters, and threatens to expose Mr. Satan wetting his bed at summer camp if he refuses. Mr. Satan grudgingly accepts, with Android 18 accompanying them to make sure Mr. Satan keeps good on his promise. Trunks and Goten stow away, hoping for a challenge.

At the lab, Mr. Satan and Jaguar come face to face after many years. The semi-tournament is organised, with Android 18, Goten and Trunks asking to take part, posing as Mr. Satan's pupils. Though Trunks and Goten make quick work of the bio-warriors, they notice an old enemy of theirs beside Jaguar: the farcical shaman from Natade Village who they encountered in Broly – Second Coming. While exploring, Trunks and Goten stumble across a tank inside which appears to be Broly, the legendary Super Saiyan they defeated, apparently having survived again. They confront the shaman, who tells them that after Broly was destroyed, he found a sample of Broly's blood and took it to Jaguar, who used it to create a clone of Broly as one of his bio-warriors.

Knowing of Broly's mental instability, Trunks and Goten try to destroy him before he awakens, but Broly notices Goten and his rage erupts, allowing him to break out of the tank. At the same time, this causes a major leak of a dangerous culture fluid which instantly devours any matter with a different structure to its own and multiplies. Broly is drenched in the culture fluid and deformed horribly ("Bio-Broly"). Jaguar orders Broly to kill Mr. Satan, and Android 18 comes to his defence (in exchange for more money), but is easily pounded by Broly. Goten and Trunks take on Broly and are only barely able to keep up with him, but the culture fluid begins to consume the entire island, destroying the bio-warriors and killing the shaman and many scientists.

Broly soon takes the upper hand and pummels Goten and Trunks. Kuririn arrives in time to save Android 18, but they too are defeated. Trunks, however, lures Broly beneath a culture fluid tank and blasts it, showering Broly in the culture fluid and disintegrating him. With Broly gone, Trunks, Goten, Kuririn and Android 18 evacuate the island, but Dr. Collie tells them that the culture fluid, after absorbing Broly, will continue to spread until it covers the entire Earth. However, after seeing Mr. Satan trying to swim away from the fluid, they notice that the fluid turns to stone upon contact with seawater. Goten, Trunks and Kuririn each fire a Kamehameha wave at the base of the island, causing a massive wave of water to flood the island and turn the culture fluid to stone. Just then, Broly suddenly emerges from the sea as a giant, but before he can attack, he too is solidified. Trunks and Goten blast him to smithereens, destroying him once and for all. Mr. Satan then emerges from the sea, asking for help. Android 18 offers, but in exchange for 100 million zeni for all the help she gave him throughout the movie. Fuming, Mr. Satan swims off.

In the Other World, Goku receives orders from the Grand Kai to take Pikkon and stop Broly (who has somehow been permitted to keep his physical body) from causing havoc in Hell. Goku decides to finish his meal first.

Dragon Ball Z movie 12

In the Other World, a teenage "oni" guarding a spirit cleansing machine turns the volume of his walkman up so loud that he fails to change the evil essence tank when necessary. Due to the overload of evil essence, the machine explodes and the "oni" is transformed into a huge-childlike monster with power over the laws regarding the worlds of the living and the dead. As a result, both worlds are thrown into chaos: in the living world, several deceased are brought back to life, while in the other world, beings who were allowed to keep their bodies turn into spirits, and vice versa.

While fighting in the final of another Other World Tournament, Goku and Pikkon are interrupted by the appearance of a crystal-like substance all over the place, and are sent to see to the disturbance. They find the Check-In Station and most of the Other World encased in crystal-like jelly beans which are immune to their energy attacks. From inside the station, King Yemma directs them to the culprit, sitting on the roof. The monster, who is unable to say anything other than its own name, Janemba, refuses to put the barrier back after Pikkon insists. Goku decides to lure Janemba down to Hell to fight him while Pikkon tries to free King Yemma.

Earth comes under siege by an array of villains, one of them a comical parody of Adolf Hitler and his Wehrmacht, as well as an army of deceased past villains led by Frieza. Gohan makes quick work of Frieza, causing the villains to scatter. During the fray, Goten and Trunks gather the Dragon Balls, summon Shenron and ask him to put the barrier between the living and deceased worlds back up, but Shenron claims that he cannot grant the wish, since only King Yemma has that kind of power. In Hell, Goku and Janemba engage in a game-like fight, with Janemba taking the upper hand against Goku. Goku realises that despite Janemba likely not meaning any real harm, he is nevertheless a danger to both worlds, and powers up to Super Saiyan 3. In his new form, Goku dominates Janemba and literally smashes his head in, but Janemba merely transforms into a much smaller but more powerful and sinister form and again takes the upper hand, almost killing Goku, but Vegeta, having regained his physical body, arrives in time to help. Both Goku and Vegeta are no match for Janemba and are forced to hide. Goku proposes fusion, but Vegeta refuses to join bodies with Goku, given his pride.

Meanwhile, back on Earth, most of the villains are defeated. Pikkon continues to try to free King Yemma, but to no avail, and in his anger, insults the crystal substance, causing it to crack. But even Pikkon's worst insults cause the crystal to crack only slightly, and he eventually gives up and rushes to aid Goku and Vegeta. After much persuasion, Vegeta agrees to fuse with Goku via the fusion dance, but Vegeta fails to extend his forefinger at the last minute and the fusion fails, resulting in a weak, obese "fighter" named Veku. Janemba beats Veku severely and almost kills him, but the fusion wears off and Goku and Vegeta escape in time. Pikkon arrives to stall Janemba while Goku and Vegeta try the fusion again, this time successfully fusing into Gogeta. Gogeta easily pummels Janemba around, but rather than kill him, uses his power to cleanse him of all evil inside him, reverting him to his teenage "oni" form, who runs away from Gogeta in horror.

With Janemba gone, his hold over the Other World disappears and the deceased return to the Afterlife. After sharing a good-natured farewel with Goku, Vegeta reverts to spirit form and disappears. While flying home, Goten and Trunks tease Gohan and Videl (In the Japanese version, the boys tease to Gohan and Videl about knowing that Goku and Vegeta saved the day.) But jokes on Gohan and Videl by not telling them.) after having watched them kissing earlier on. The film closes with the still-summoned Shenron, asking if anyone wants to make a wish.

Dragon Ball Z movie 13

On a distant planet, a young alien boy frantically searches his surroundings, sword at the ready, but before he can react, he is crushed by a giant foot while someone laughs maniacally in the background.

On Earth, Gohan and Videl (as the Great Saiyaman I and II) are summoned to the city to rescue an old, alien-like man trying to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. Once they rescue him and take him elsewhere, the man introduces himself as Hoi and presents them with a music box, inside which he claims a hero named Tapion is trapped, and may be the Earth's last chance against an approaching evil. When even Goku fails to open the music box, the Z Fighters gather the Dragon Balls and ask Shenron to open it for them. Tapion is released, but expresses anger at Hoi and Goku for freeing him, explaining that inside him is the essence of half of the ferocious monster, Hirudegarn, before fleeing into isolation. Trunks, however, takes an instant liking to Tapion, and frequently sneaks off to his location to bring him food, despite Tapion angrily telling him to leave him alone.

Shortly afterwards, the lower half of Hirudegarn appears and begins attacking the city. Gohan and Videl rush to the city's aid, but are unable to deal any damage until Tapion appears, playing a mysterious tune on an ocarina which weakens Hirudegarn and causes him to vanish. Later on, however, while Trunks is bringing Tapion some food, Hoi suddenly appears and tries to steal Tapion's ocarina. Hoi claims that Tapion himself is the evil threat to the Earth and that the ocarina must be destroyed for them to stop Tapion. In the ensuing scuffle, Trunks gets hold of the ocarina, but chooses to believe Tapion and returns it to him, while Hoi flees.

Tapion accepts Trunks as a friend and is invited to the Capsule Corp. compound. While there, he explains his story to Bulma: a thousand years ago, an evil race of alien magicians, the Kashvaar, who at sometime proclaimed themselves as the Superior race and set out to destroy all life different to their own in the universe by awakening an ancient monster known as Hirudegarn. Their conquest eventually brought them to the planet Konats, Tapion's homeworld. During the ensuing battle, a Konatsian priest discovered a magic sword and two ocarinas capable of stopping Hirudegarn. Tapion and his younger brother Minosha kept Hirudegarn at bay with the ocarinas while the priest cleaved the monster in half with the sword. In the aftermath, in order to ensure Hirudegarn would never again be released, the Konatsian War Council decided to seal Hirudegarn's two halves away inside Tapion and Minosha, magically seal them inside music boxes, and send them to the opposite sides of the universe until the Kashvaar were brought to justice. Hoi, who is the last of the Kashvaar, has already killed Minosha (as seen in the prologue), and now seeks out Tapion in order to complete Hirudegarn and conquer the universe. Bulma offers to build Tapion a bedroom using the components of the music box so that Tapion can sleep without Hirudegarn escaping from him.

However, while sleeping, a nightmare causes Tapion to accidentally destroy the bedroom. Hirudegarn's lower half reappears and starts attacking. In desperation, Tapion begs Goku and the others to kill him in order to destroy Hirudegarn's upper half, but it is too late and the monster is released. A fierce battle between the Z Fighters and Hirudegarn erupts, with none of the fighters able to keep up with the monster's strength and speed. Trunks and Goten fuse in to Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks and bombard Hirudegarn with energy blasts, apparently burning him to death, but Hirudegarn transforms into a much faster and more powerful form and makes quick work of Gotenks (defusing him in the process) and the rest of the Z Fighters. Tapion appears and seals Hirudegarn inside himself again by playing the ocarina, and asks Trunks to slay him and destroy Hirudegarn forever.

Trunks hesitates, and Hirudegarn escapes again, destroying the ocarina. As Hoi watches and gloats over his apparent victory, in an Ironic twist Hoi is stepped on and is crushed (the same way Minosha was killed) by the monster he believed would destroy all life different than his own. By now, the only fighter left standing is Goku, who refuses to surrender. In desperation, Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan 3 and starts taunting Hirudegarn, angering the monster further. As Goku and Hirudegarn battle, Trunks intervenes and cuts Hirudegarn's tail off with Tapion's sword. With Hirudegarn temporarily weakened, Goku uses his Dragon Fist attack to pierce through the monster, obliterating Hirudegarn once and for all.

In the aftermath, Tapion uses Bulma's time machine to return to Konats. Bulma promises to revive all of Hirudegarn's victims with the Dragon Balls. Before leaving, Tapion presents Trunks with his sword as a farewell gift. In the ending credits, Future Trunks is shown slaying Frieza, King Cold and their men with his own sword, almost identical to Tapion's.

Dragon Ball Z movie 14

Approximately five years have passed since the titanic battle with Majin Buu, which determined the fate of the entire universe. From the Sacred World of the Kais, Kibito Kai and Old Kai telepathically discuss with King Kai about the early awakening of Beerus. Goku is visiting King Kai's planet in order to train and, while he is running with Bubbles, he overhears their conversation. King Kai then explains that there are gods who give birth to life-forms and worlds but in contrast to them there are gods who maintain balance by destroying these things, the aptly named God of Destruction. Ecstatic over the thought of such a powerful foe, Goku states that he wishes to challenge Beerus, but King Kai proceeds to scold him, revealing that the God of Destruction Beerus has power that is in an entirely different dimension. On the World of the Kais, Kibito Kai and Old Kai wonder how many planets will be annihilated now that the God of Destruction has awoken

Meanwhile, in Beerus' temple, the mysterious Whis is walking slowly with a serious look. As he arrives in Beerus' bedroom, alarm bombs are exploding, but Beerus continues his 39 year long slumber. The god's attendant Whis insists that he awake now and threatens to perform an "awakening song" if he does not arise. Terrified, Beerus shoots awake and proceeds to slide down from his bed atop a floating rock. He is still cranky, having been woken up 15 years earlier than before, but is reminded by Whis that he was the one that set this as the time of his next awakening and he is then questioned about his wanting to be woken early. Beerus, now cleaning his fur, states that something in this era concerns him.

As he proceeds to eat breakfast, Beerus questions Whis about the galactic tyrant Frieza, and whether or not he had destroyed Planet Vegeta. Whis confirms the planet's obliteration, and Beerus is pleased to hear this. He then states that he was not particularly fond of the people on that planet, specifically King Vegeta. It is revealed he planned to destroy the planet himself, but because it was so distant, never bothered. Beerus then reveals his distaste toward the evil Frieza as well, and he decides on destroying him next. However, Whis informs Beerus that Frieza was killed some time ago by a Saiyan named Goku, who is also known by his birth-name, Kakarot. Whis then uses his scepter like a projector to display the past battle between Super Saiyan Goku and Frieza on Namek. Whis then notes that while nearly all of the Saiyans were destroyed along with their planet, a few survived and are living on other worlds, including the Saiyan Prince himself, Vegeta.

While watching, Beerus touches and destroys one of the eggs he was eating, and is genuinely surprised that anyone else could take down Frieza, let alone a Saiyan. Whis then further explains that the surviving Saiyans have acquired the ability to transform into Super Saiyans. The phrase appears to be familiar to Beerus, and he then recalls having dreamed of battling something similar, a Super Saiyan God. He is convinced this must have been a prophetic dream, but is reminded by Whis that his dreams have been very unreliable in the past. To settle the matter, Beerus decides to consult with the Oracle Fish. He questions the fish on whether or not a prediction was once made about his one day confronting a mighty warrior, but the Oracle Fish does not recall ever having stated this.

However, Beerus is convinced that it was stated, so the fish agrees that it must have been so. Now, Beerus has no doubt that this warrior must be the Super Saiyan God. Whis is still skeptical however, and finds it hard to imagine anyone posing a real challenge for Beerus. They decide to track down this foe by hunting down the remaining Saiyans. Whis reveals that most of them are on Earth, which is "Planet 4032-877" in the Seventh Universe. However, the one who defeated Frieza, Goku, is currently on King Kai's planet, so the two set off to confront him.

On Earth, Bulma is throwing herself a huge birthday party at Capsule Corporation, and nearly all her friends and family are partaking in the celebration with the exception of Goku and Vegeta, who much to her annoyance, are off training.

On King Kai's planet, King Kai warns Goku that Beerus is headed their way. However, much to Goku's confusion, he is unable to sense anyone. King Kai then explains that the energy of a god is beyond Goku's comprehension, thus why he is unable to feel his presence. King Kai hides Goku in his house, but it is too late; Beerus and Whis have already arrived. After King Kai politely welcomes them, Beerus complains about how small the planet is, but Whis reminds him that he himself destroyed the original one long ago after losing in a game of hide-and-seek. Beerus then proceeds to explain that he has traveled here because he has business with the Saiyan and he calls out Goku. After a brief introduction, Beerus questions Goku about the Super Saiyan God, but while Goku and King Kai are both very familiar with the regular Super Saiyan transformations, neither of them has ever heard of this mysterious new form.

Goku then proceeds to demonstrate the various Super Saiyan levels that he is capable of utilizing. These feats impress Beerus, but reveals that he is not particularly concerned, and that Goku is either very confident or just a fool. Goku then respectfully challenges Beerus, much to the dismay of King Kai, who continues to insist that he is being very foolish. Nevertheless, Super Saiyan 3 Goku then engages Beerus in combat, but his first attack is effortlessly blocked. Goku is then tossed and sent flying into the ground by a mere flick to the head. Now seemingly angry, Goku charges once again, but Beerus repeatedly dodges and blocks Goku's attacks and even effortlessly evades a mighty punch that subsequently blows straight through King Kai's planet. Beerus' incredible speed then allows him to come up behind Goku, and he defeats him with a single carefree chop to the neck, rendering him unconscious and causing him to revert to his base form. Disappointed by the subsequent lack of challenge, Beerus departs in order to learn if Vegeta and the other Saiyans on Earth know more about the mysterious Super Saiyan God.

Meanwhile on Earth, Vegeta is off on his own training when King Kai telepathically contacts him. He is then warned about then impending arrival of Beerus, and reveals he has heard of the God of Destruction before, but he is not worried about the situation. Nevertheless, King Kai warns that the Earth will be destroyed if they do not stay away from Beerus, but Vegeta refuses to heed these warnings until King Kai informs him that Beerus took down Super Saiyan 3 Goku in just a few blows. After King Kai's transmission, Goku wakes up and is just barely alive. Meanwhile, the shocked Vegeta rushes out and interrupts the party to warn everyone, but Beerus and Whis have already arrived. Beerus casually greets him, and it is revealed that the two have met before. Vegeta then recalls that when he was a boy, his father King Vegeta treated Beerus to a feast in his palace and that Beerus used the Saiyan King as a stepping stone while he was eating. Now seeing Beerus face-to-face once again, Vegeta realizes the God of Destruction is incredibly dangerous.

Beerus then notices that they are having some sort of party and Vegeta proceeds to explain that this is his wife's birthday party. Before proceeding to partake in the festivities, Beerus questions Vegeta about the Super Saiyan God. Vegeta explains he knows nothing about it either. Whis, who was previously skeptical, is now confident that Beerus' "prophetic dream" was once again a mistake. Bulma then arrives, and Beerus and Whis politely introduce themselves. The festivities continue, with Piccolo singing karaoke, Whis eating, and Beerus break dancing, all the while Vegeta continues to play the polite and worrisome host.

As the festivities continue, it is revealed that the grand prize of Bulma's bingo tournament is the set of the seven Dragon Balls. Bulma just wanted to have a reason to see everyone, this is why she has special prizes for the Bingo game, such as a castle, as she knew everyone would get together if she had these kinds of prizes. When asked about her age, Bulma says she is 38, but even Kuririn is skeptical when he hears the number.

Meanwhile, the Pilaf Gang sneaks into the party with the intention of stealing the Dragon Balls. However, they are unrecognizable, as they have been turned into children due to a faulty wish for youth that made them far too young, so they are also invited to the party. Trunks claims Mai is his girlfriend just to boast to Goten, and when the group questions Mai about her age, she states she is 41, much to the amusement of everyone. As the celebration proceeds, Emperor Pilaf notices Son Goten and sees his incredibly similar appearance to Goku. He then recalls when Great Ape Goku destroyed his castle decades ago. The Pilaf Gang then steals the four-star Dragon Ball, and Mai holds Trunks at gun-point. Of course, no one is concerned by this, even believing it to be some kind of act.

A drunken Gohan appears as Great Saiyaman, proceeding to ask Mai to shoot him. He snaps all the bullets with one finger, but two of them go astray. One hits Videl's leg and another one hits Beerus' forehead. While healing her, Dende notices that Videl is pregnant, a fact that she had been hiding in order to surprise Gohan, and Dende maintains the secret.

Beerus, who was hit by a stray bullet, now decides to destroy Earth. As he powers up a devastating attack, Vegeta interrupts, exclaiming that the bingo tournament is about to begin. He then desperately performs a song and dance about bingo, which convinces Beerus and Whis to go on eating for a while longer. As such, the others begin to wonder why Vegeta is acting so strangely. Bulma forgives the Pilaf trio's misbehavior and collects the four-star Dragon Ball from them for the bingo tournament. As the others play bingo, Whis informs Beerus that there is supposed to be some delicious custard pudding, and that Mr. Buu is currently eating some. Beerus politely asks Buu for one and Whis asks for two, but Buu refuses, stating he will eat them all himself. Beerus cannot believe Buu will not share when he has so many, but Buu shouts back at him saying they are all his and proceeds to lick them all. Beerus struggles with Buu over the pudding, until Buu tries to turn him into candy.

Vegeta finally notices the altercation and curses himself for letting Beerus out of his sight. The God of Destruction snaps, stating that he will destroy the Earth for this, and he unleashes his power in a fit of rage. Mr. Buu rushes at Beerus, but is sent flying off into a lake with a mere Kiai. Vegeta yells for Beerus to stop, but Master Roshi announces the Z Fighters' attack. Android 18, Tien Shinhan and Piccolo attempt to fight Beerus and the God of Destruction easily defeats them one after another: #18 is knocked out by a single elbow strike to the neck, Tien's attack is halted by a pair of chopsticks Beerus pick up from a table, using them to catch his fist and toss him, and Piccolo is rendered unconscious from two swift pressure point strikes to the body by Beerus' chopsticks.

Beerus then retrieves Buu from the lake, and meanwhile Gohan powers up and attacks Beerus only to have his full-nelson reversed and his head slammed into Buu's. Gohan is then taken down by a heavy kick to the abdomen from Beerus, and Buu is smashed back down into the lake. Vegeta joins the battle as well, but he is quickly kicked down to the ground. Goten and Trunks perform the Fusion Dance to form Gotenks, who then transforms into a Super Saiyan and attempts to battle Beerus but is quickly defeated as well. Out of options, Vegeta decides to attack Beerus again after the other Z Fighters have been defeated. Meanwhile, Whis enjoys sushi in a restaurant near Capsule Corporation, not even bothering to watch the battles unfold, and a motorcycle policewoman observes the battle at Capsule Corporation from a distance.

Unable to stand up to Beerus' incredible power, Vegeta is ultimately defeated. As Beerus is about to finish him off, Bulma walks up and scolds him for ruining her birthday party, slapping him in the process. The God of Destruction responds with a slap of his own. Seeing his wife being beaten, Vegeta explodes in a fit of rage. He powers up and attacks Beerus head on. Watching the battle, Master Roshi exclaims in amazement that Vegeta's power seems to have surpassed that of even Goku. Vegeta's anger gives him incredible strength, but as soon as his rampage is over, Beerus is left unharmed and proceeds to lightly flick Vegeta in the forehead, rendering him unconscious.

Goku then arrives and pleads with Beerus to allow him to attempt to reach the Super Saiyan God form. Beerus agrees, and Goku decides to use the Dragon Balls in order to ask Shenron how to reach the form. The dragon says that a Super Saiyan God once appeared on Planet Vegeta to stop the evil Saiyans, but he failed because of the form's time limit. Beerus steps forward and asks the dragon the method of becoming a Super Saiyan God. Shenron then reveals that they need the light of five righteous Saiyans to infuse their power into another Saiyan for him to turn Super Saiyan God. Gohan, Goten, Trunks and Vegeta hover above the ground, holding hands with Goku, and begin pouring their Super Saiyan power into him. Before long, Goku begins emitting an enormous power level. Everyone else then drops out of their Super Saiyan forms as their energy is completely transferred over to Goku, who is left with an amazing sparking aura. Kuririn states that Goku has surely become a god now, but Piccolo responds by claiming that he has done nothing more than just gather up everyone's energy. Beerus agrees, noting that a god's energy is not expressed in battle power, and Goku realizes that he will still be no match for Beerus.

Whis then proceeds to remind them of what Shenron actually said, the power of five Saiyans must be infused into another. In other words, a total of six pure-hearted Saiyans is required. They struggle to think up where they can find another pure-hearted Saiyan, and Bulma remembers that Vegeta has a younger brother living off on some distant planet. Vegeta states he does not know his brother's whereabouts, and therefore would not be of any help. Growing impatient, Beerus decides that he and Whis should depart, but Videl steps forward and says that there is another Saiyan, or at least that there will be. Dende then explains that Videl is pregnant, a fact she wanted to keep a secret to surprise Gohan later, but he is still ecstatic at hearing the wonderful news. Everyone is overjoyed and begins celebrating, but Beerus interrupts them and questions whether Goku is going to ascend to Super Saiyan God or not. The ritual is attempted again, this time, with the addition of Videl who carries a Saiyan-Human hybrid inside her. The six of them gather together and grab hands. This time a blue light starts to emit from everyone and engulfs Goku, who begins to rise into the air. A bright blue light erupts from Goku, bursting into an intense aura that quickly dissipates, and Goku descends back down to the ground, apparently having finally become a Super Saiyan God.

Goku and Beerus stand facing each other, staring down one another. Goku gradually begins glowing, slowly emitting a fiery red aura, and then launches toward Beerus. Goku delivers a massive punch, but Beerus intercepts it, causing a huge shock wave. The two take to the air to continue their fight and Beerus states he is so far pleased, but Goku reveals he is dissatisfied with this new power, disliking the fact that he was unable to obtain it on his own. Angered, Beerus delivers a heavy punch to Goku's abdomen and follows up with a ferocious kick, one that sends him flying through West City. Goku stops himself mid-air, but before he can counter-attack, Beerus attacks from behind and puts him into a headlock. Beerus then quickly whirls around him, proceeding to kick Goku off into a nearby forest, and then gives chase.

Goku and Beerus continue battling in the forest, when Beerus sends Goku soaring with another kick straight to the face. Beerus gives chase once again and the two end up in a mountainous desert area, surrounded by large rock formations. Goku and Beerus charge at each other and their punches collide, sending out an Earth-shattering shock wave. They pull away from each other and a trickle of blood falls from a cut on Goku's cheek. Beerus questions Goku on whether or not he is still dissatisfied with godhood, and Goku confirms that he is. Their battle is then pushed into a subterranean cavern, and Beerus informs Goku this sort of pride can be a weakness. However, Beerus then admits that he too is overall dissatisfied, having been fighting nowhere near his full strength.

Goku is astonished, having been fighting at about 80% of his full strength. Now realizing Goku is also holding back, Beerus charges and begins vigorously pummeling him. Suddenly Goku's red aura disappears and he reverts to his normal state. The two continue their bout, with Goku utilizing Instant Transmission in order to counter Beerus' increased speed. Beerus then unleashes a barrage of rapid fire energy blasts that Goku barely manages to dodge. Goku manages to come around Beerus' side and is able to strike him hard in the gut. Now truly angry, Beerus fires off countless energy blasts in every direction. Goku tries to dodge all of the boulders falling from above, but he is quickly overwhelmed. He then suddenly bursts out as he transforms into a Super Saiyan.

Goku flies up to the surface, with Beerus giving chase. Goku continues holding his own as the battle moves up into the Earth's atmosphere. Goku then fires a massive Kamehameha wave at Beerus, but he takes the blast head on and then prepares a huge attack of his own, an enormous energy sphere. As Goku struggles against Beerus' attack, he is reminded that the Super Saiyan God form's time limit had apparently run out. Goku reveals he had not noticed this, because as he fought he apparently absorbed that realm of power into his body. Due to this, even after returning to normal, Goku's power saw relatively no decrease. Beerus then fires a a finger beam into his energy sphere. Beerus' massive energy ball threatens to destroy the Earth, but as his friends and family cheer him on, Goku momentarily becomes a Super Saiyan God once again and repels the attack. Impressed, Beerus decides to stop the fight if Goku agrees to surrender.

Goku, having realized he is truly no match for the God of Destruction, obliges and steps down. Impressed by Goku's power, Beerus states he was the second strongest person he has ever done battle with. Goku laughs, but is curious as to why he is only second. Beerus then reveals that while Whis is his attendant, he is also his martial arts master. Beerus then also reveals this world is the Seventh Universe, but there are twelve universes in total. Goku cannot help but laugh at the prospect of there being even more incredible beings in existence. Goku then finally collapses out of exhaustion and causes panic among the Z Fighters and company, but Gohan confirms that Goku is still alive and well. Beerus then proceeds to destroy the Earth as promised, and he fires off another fearsome-looking attack, but it destroys only a small rock, claiming that he is all out of stamina.

Whis proceeds to offer Goku the job of being the next God of Destruction after Beerus one day perishes, but Goku turns him down. Beerus then apologizes to Bulma for hitting her. She invites them to her next party, making them agree to not cause any problems next time. Beerus understands, though states that next time he better receive some of the custard pudding he had longed for. Bulma promises that she will prepare some just for him and that he better like how they taste. Beerus responds by threatening to destroy the Earth indefinitely if they do end up tasting bad, and Goku exclaims he will stop him again if he tries. Beerus and Whis bid everyone farewell, and depart into space. Watching these events from their respective planets, King Kai, Kibito Kai and Old Kai cannot believe that Goku actually got the God of Destruction Beerus to not destroy something, and they are amazed at Goku's character and his ability to befriend even the most fearsome of beings.

Back at his temple, Beerus discusses with Whis about Goku and his immeasurable latent power. Beerus then states that Goku and Vegeta might soon actually become fearsome foes. Whis pulls out some sushi that he brought back from Earth with him, and he and Beerus begin to eat. He explains to Beerus about soy sauce and wasabi, which he learned about while Beerus was busy fighting. Beerus proceeds to try some of the wasabi, which turns his face red and he shoots up into the air in extreme pain, destroying the moons around his temple. Whis rushes over and karate chops Beerus in order to make him stop, then he orders Beerus to sleep for three more years, and to brush his teeth before going to bed.

On Earth, Bulma's birthday party recommences. Vegeta angrily informs Goku that next time he will be the one who gets to become the Super Saiyan God and Goku had better cooperate. Goku states that Vegeta became an incredible Super Saiyan when he got angry over Bulma being hit, but Vegeta states he does not recall that. Goku says that the next time they are up against a powerful opponent, they should just have their enemy hit Bulma, to which Bulma responds by slapping Goku. Piccolo points out that Goku must have been around when that happened, and suspects that he teleported in and was watching everyone as they fought Beerus. Hearing this, Oolong jumps on Goku yelling at him about their lives being in such extreme danger. Goku says he wanted to watch Beerus to try and form a strategy, but ultimately, that was useless. Vegeta asks Bulma to slap Goku again, which she agrees to do with pleasure. Goku starts crawling away as Bulma prepares to slap him and, off-screen, she slaps him several times.

Dragon Ball Z movie 15

Gohan states that he did not tell Trunks and Goten about Frieza coming to Earth, because they would have challenged him not knowing what he's capable of. In Dragon Ball Volume ‘F’, Trunks and Goten didn't appear because they were scared of losing the next generation fighters.

Trivia

  • His favorite food is yakiniku (grilled meat), and his favorite vehicle is a sports air car.
  • Trunks' hobby is playing video games.
  • Trunks' grandfather, Dr. Brief, made him a toy that looks like the time machine Future Trunks arrived in. He also had a Goku doll.
  • His unusual name comes from the running joke of his family members all being named after various undergarments, though these are downplayed in the English version, and the word "trunks" can have several meanings, such as plural for tree trunk (interestingly enough, he uses an attack called Big Tree Cannon). The English version of Dragon Ball Z has his name as Trunks Brief while Dragon Ball GT identifies him as Mr. Brief during Trunks appearances as President of Capsule Corp. Bulma does actually refer to him by this full name in the anime.
  • His name, Trunks, is a pun on boxers. When it is put together, it becomes Boxer-Brief.
  • As mentioned before, Trunks inherited both Vegeta's egotistical attitude and his father's low opinion of Goku, as seen when Goku arrives on Earth for his one-day revival pass granted by Fortuneteller Baba, where he and Vegeta look upon the emotional scene of Goku reunites with his friends and family including when he meets Goten for the first time with total indifference. While believing his father to be the best, Trunks does respect Goku as a warrior after witnessing his Super Saiyan 3 transformation, and in Wrath of the Dragon, Trunks is shown to express genuine concern for Goku's well-being after he is crushed in between Hirudegarn's hands.
  • In Bio-Broly, Trunks admits to having a "problem" with dogs.
  • The Trunks character gets wished back from the Dragon Balls twice, once when his alternate timeline self is killed by Super Perfect Cell and second when Kid Buu destroys the Earth.
  • Trunks' hair seems to be darker in GT, much darker than Future Trunks'.
  • In Dragon Ball GT and video games, Trunks knows many techniques originally used by his alternate timeline counterpart (Burning Storm, God Breaker, etc.).
  • Trunks is never shown to have had a tail at any point in the series, unlike his father Vegeta or Goku and Gohan. Toriyama stated that it is a recessive trait; it is possible that he did have one but it was cut off at birth.
  • The hero of the video game Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker, for which the Dragon Ball author Akira Toriyama is a designer, has a slight resemblance to Kid Trunks.
  • As he is presented in Dragon Ball GT, his appearance looks similar to that of Android 17 and Super 17 with his bandanna. However it is colored blue, as opposed to being orange.
  • Trunks' hair whilst a Super Saiyan varies multiple times throughout the series, movies, and video games. In Dragon Ball Super his hair as a Super Saiyan goes through an extreme change, standing up on end resembling Gohan's super saiyan hair, complete with the large hair lock.
  • Trunks is the first child of Bulma to be voiced by Bulma's Japanese voice actress, Hiromi Tsuru who voices Trunks as a baby, the second being his sister Bulla in both DBZ and GT (as well as video games).
  • In Dragon Ball GT and video games, Trunks knows many techniques originally used by his alternate timeline counterpart (Burning Storm, God Breaker, etc.).
