Megumi Ogata (緒方 恵美, born on June 6, 1965) is a Japanese voice actress, and a famous singer from the Greater Tokyo Area.

As a singer, she goes by the name em:ou. She attended Tokai University, but left due to a lack of interest. She is best known for voicing Makoto Naegi and Nagito Komaeda in the Danganronpa Series, Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon, her debut role as Kurama/Shuichi Minamino in Yu Yu Hakusho, Tier Harribel in Bleach, and Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion. Not only that she is known for playing Yugi Muto & Yami Yugi in Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 along with Yukito Tsukishiro/Yue in Cardcaptor Sakura. She also voiced Himura Kenshin in the 90s drama cd of Rurouni Kenshin.

  • Ogata recalls how she was chosen by the director to voice Yugi. She says that he told her "I can feel the scent of darkness from you" which, while leaving the actress confused at, Ogata believes he meant Yugi's anti-heroic alter-ego.
  • She was considered to voice, Himura Kenshin in the anime version of Rurouni Kenshin that was in production before Yu-Gi-Oh!, but she had to drop out of the project for Rurouni Kenshin because of her busy schedule.
