Generator Rex

Generator Rex is an American animated science fiction television series created by Man of Action for Cartoon Network, with John Fang of Cartoon Network Studios as supervising director. It was inspired by the comic M. Rex, created by Aaron Sowd, Joe Kelly and Duncan Rouleau, and published by Image Comics in 1999. The series premiered in the United States on April 23, 2010, on Cartoon Network, and concluded on January 3, 2013, with a total of 60 episodes, plus two episodes remained unaired.

• The fact that Rex is half Argentine and half Mexican may indicate the civilizational development of the Mexican Revolution.
• In "Operation: Wingman". Noah, who is played by Fred Savage, goes to prom with Claire, a girl voiced by Danica McKellar, who is well-known for playing Savage's love interest Winnie Cooper in The Wonder Years.

Gabriel Rylander and Rafael Salazar, the two leading scientists on the nanite project, share their names with two archangels. Circe was an evil witch in Greek mythology whose voice could seduce and had the power to turn men into animals with her potions.
• There are many characters in the series who share similar designs to their voice actors, such as: Dr. Holiday looks like Gray Delisle. Fitzi Vickens is styled similar to Tom Kenny. And we have a bit of a similarity between Jennifer Hill and Black Knight with there is also a slight similarity between Claire and Danica, her voice actress on the personality side, Annie, and her voice actress Felsa Day on the personality side as well.
• Claire changes her clothes for the third time in guy vs guy episode, which makes her the most dressed character in the series.
• Inspired by the short-lived comic book series M. Rex (Machina Rex) published by Image Comics.
• The last episode of the series aired was "Rock My World", which doesn't really have anything to do with the overall plot. However, it seems that the producers realized it would be the very last episode instead of "End Game" and threw in an Animation Bump, Awesome Music original to that episode, some light Fanservice by bringing back Holiday's little sister, and crafted the plot to be just 22 minutes of Rex being awesome to let the series end on a high note.
• Claire and Annie appears once or twice each season as: Claire and Annie appears in both Episode 11 of Season 1 titled Mission: Wingman, Episode 9 of Season 2 with the title Haunted, and Episode 15 of Season 3 with the title Hermanos. Claire appears as a cameo in episode 8 of Season 3, titled Guy Vs Guy.

• This series gives both genders time to shine, even if the men (excluding Bobo) have a better overall record, due to their lion's share of front-line fighters.
• In the original comic, Rex is blond and blue-eyed, while in the show, he's Latino. Some conceptual art shows that they may at one point planned on using the original design, albeit aged up. There's also some with Rex looking like a humanoid version of the Megawhatt from Ben 10.
• Running Gag: Trains. So many trains. Pretty much every time Rex gets near a subway or other train line he's pretty much guaranteed to have a near miss with a train. Even Breach seems to be aware of this: in "Hard Target" she sends him through one of her portals and straight onto a train line. Of course, there's a train heading straight for him.
• Episode 33, "Written in Sand" has Rex using his whip arm to trip ZAG-RS' massive colossus form, only for the whip to snap. Was Rex remarks how they do it in Star wars.
• Stock Sound Effects: Rex gets these quite often, but they're especially noticeable in "Breach" before things get really serious.
• Episode 5 of Season 3 claims the phantom of the soap opera, and the episode mocks the soap opera series. The voice actor of the character of Agent Six, Wally Corth, is the star of soap opera in fact and worked in Days of Our Life and the General Hospital
